The Olympia and Athena Jacket - Flat Fells / Part 5
Please note that this pattern (and more!) is available to purchase on my online store
A flat fell is a strong seam with two lines of stitching showing on the right side that is produced by folding one raw edge under the other and stitching it flat or slip-stitching it on the wrong side.
While seam directions are a personal preference and can be changed, we suggest the following for construction:
Front / Side Front - Towards placket
Side / Back - Towards the back
Back Left and Right - Towards the sides
Back yoke - Fold top seam to lower back
Shoulders - ront seam long and back seam cut and fold towards the back
To Begin:
Sew the two pieces of fabric WS to WS and press open.
Trim one seam down to approximately 1/4”
Fold the larger seam over the shorter seam, and press as you go, pinning to hold the fold in place.
