Pattern Pieces - Pre-sewn Pockets, Flaps and Front Yoke

Pin the pockets in place, making sure that the point of the pocket is not on the flat fell seam. It is designed to sit off to the side of the flat fell seam to reduce bulk.

Top stitch the pockets down using your top stitch thread.

Place your flaps at the top of your front panels, aligned with the raw seams, make sure you have enough space between the two so the pockets are usable.

Stitch the flaps with a 1/2” seam allowance—this can be in a neutral or top stitch thread. It won’t be seen again but it does help to keep the pocket flaps in alignment with the main pocket.

Sew each front yoke WS to WS to the lower front and yoke

Pin the seam allowance together and sew with a top stitch thread. This will feel a little bulky, especially when you sew the flap section.

Cut the lower seam down to a 1/4”

Fold the upper seam down, press and pin.
