The Amelia and Joan French Jacket Digital Patterns

$16.00

A fun fact - all Challenging Sew Patterns are inspired by a different Mardis Gras Krewe  (the social clubs who organize the world famous celebration in my home town of New Orleans).

The Joan Jacket is named after the 'The Joan Of Arcs' who kick off the season each January 6th, and the Amelia is named for the 'Amelia Earhawts' and their slogan 'Can you handle the turbulence'!

This download includes twelve total PDFs: three with Seam Allowance and three without for each of the two patterns, this combination of seam allowances makes Challenging Sew patterns unique in the industry and a huge time and labor saver for you. For more information on this important idea, please see my videos on TikTok

The Joan French Jacket is a fitted, classic French Jacket with an optional stand collar, princess seams, straight side seams and a three piece sleeve, and the Amelia is a slightly more relaxed version.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I did - you can see my own journey with them on my blog.

I don’t think I’m exaggerating to say last weekend was pretty magical.
Eleven women, joined Lynda and I in the studio for a pants fitting workshop over three days.
In that time, Lynda fitted muslins, taught flat pattern adjustments and
I’ve been thrifting again lately, and taking stock of my closet in anticipation of Lauren’s class on December 1st.

It’s always lovely to take a day off, join in with a guest instructor and sew for pleasure, knowing I will learn lot
The sewing in the open studio sessions and workshops is just so good!! I’ve got lots of pictures to share, so today I’m going to start with a favorite!

I’ve got four new Camisoles joining the other samples at the studio this week.

Each one is a little different, I’ve tried to mix and matched both fabrics and technique, so that there are lots of options to choose from….

I’m making some new camisole samples this week, as I work out how to turn this into a studio workshop.
But I have to admit that while we all know everything in sewing takes so much longer than you think it will, this really is taking sooooooo
Oh hi! 👋 I actually wrote a new blog post and it only took five years 😬 I’d forgotten how much I loved doing them! Updates every Monday again going forward….
