Marfy 3520.....the beginnings...
I've picked a pattern, Alice gave me a yard and a half of Chanel Wool and Silk to see what I would do with it (have I mentioned just how much I like working in a fabric store!!!) and I found some sewing time this weekend..
It feels like its been so long since I opened a pattern and started planning a garment......I missed it.
This fabric has some nice challenges with its fairly large print and as I am working with a limited amount, I have no idea if I will embellish as it suggests, or even keep the pattern exactly as is......
but I've made and fitted the muslin, cut and interfaced the bodice and skirt fabric, and sewn most of the main seams.
I did decide yesterday because both the fabric and pattern are a little out of my comfort zone (in a good way), it would be better to have a roughly finished dress to try before going much further.
So, on Wednesday I will start putting it all together to take a first look!
Also, I will finally post the last Paris shopping post this week, I thought I would give everyone's mailbox a little break, as a few people asked when I would be sewing again :-)
Have a lovely week!
